In ghostlore, a Haunted Hang or Spirit Sit is a live performance of spooky electronic music presented on several nights during the month of October. The improvised soundscapes may be perceived as being influenced by disembodied spirits of the deceased who may have been connected with the electronic devices or devices like them. Parapsychologists often attribute this influence to the spirits of the dead who have suffered from violent or tragic events connected to electronics such as murder, accidental death, or suicide.
The Hipster is “A person who follows the latest trends and fashions, especially those regarded as being outside the cultural mainstream.” The Haunt combined with the Hang provides an October trend with alternative culture provide by special guests - musicians, commentators, artists and guest ghouls.

As people are more likely to experience a haunting when they are about to fall asleep, when waking, if they are intoxicated or sleep deprived, the "HHHH" spans midnight EDT (11pm-1am Eastern Daylight Time) and accompanied by libations that are holiday-appropriate.

This year's hang is brought to you by the number 5. Follows are some of the sonic themes that will be experienced during this internet preternatural encounter:
